Architectural Design and Plans
Here at Roberts Miller Redshaw, we designed a contemporary parapet-angled kitchen extension, thoughtfully positioned to increase footprint without overwhelming the existing structure. Angled diagonally, the design directs movement visually and physically towards the patio, creating a natural transition from inside to outside. The addition was carefully planned to boost natural light, extend the kitchen area significantly, and enhance the property’s overall aesthetic in a way that went beyond a traditional ‘box’ extension.
Incorporating a Roof Light
One of the most striking features of this kitchen extension and renovation is the inclusion of a large roof light. This architectural detail floods the new kitchen-dining space with daylight throughout the day, making it feel bright and spacious even on darker winter mornings. The clever placement of this roof light also highlights the sleek, modern finishes within the extension, turning it into an eye-catching centrepiece of the home.
