About this Project

The Sandpearl project required our Architectural services in Storrington, specifically in Sullington Warren. This was a unique project with every detail of its construction minutely considered. Furthermore, this project was the architectural design and construction of a brand new detached, 5 bed, new build house with an integral garage.

The goal for this new build was to retain all the luxuries of a premium modern home, whilst delivering an eco-friendly approach. In addition, we wanted to deliver an amazing space with less impact to the environment, as well as reduce monthly outgoings.

The Process

The site was originally part of large garden belonging to a detached farmhouse, surrounded by tall oaks with far reaching views to the South Downs and beyond. The area is populated by traditional pitched roof architecture, typical of its green belt credentials.

Our proposed designs were sympathetic to a traditional house with elements of modern architecture to deliver space and light into the building. Following a rigorous planning process, planning achieved consent to level the site and build a stunning house of 300 metres squared.

We utilised modern building technologies combined with the highest quality materials, including Canadian Western Red Cedar Cladding and traditional brickwork with an abundance of high performing glazing throughout. The glazed ground floor living space is surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds. With the balcony capturing stunning views of the South Downs, the first floor master bedroom boasts modern, vaulted ceilings.

Results of Our Architectural Services in Storrington

Great emphasis was placed on constructing Sandpearl in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. An impressive sustainability target was set, modern insulation to the highest level. Energy efficiency has been maximised through the incorporation of a highly sustainable sewage system including a biotech swage plant. Additionally, an air source heat pump which circulates heat around the entire house at a fraction of the cost of traditional supply was installed.

The result is a stunning modernist home which has won the admiration of the local community.
