Single Storey Extension & Kitchen Redesign

This impressive single storey extension project transformed a traditional Victorian property into a bright, modern home designed for contemporary living. The homeowners wanted to move away from their small, dark kitchen and create a spacious open-plan zone where cooking, dining and entertaining could take centre stage. The completed design and construction not only delivered extra room but completely elevated the way the space is used every day.

Architecural Plans

To blend classic and contemporary elements, we designed a sleek rear single storey extension with a strong modern twist. The old kitchen area was replaced with a large open plan kitchen-dining space, flowing seamlessly into the upgraded rear patio. Bifold doors in slate grey finish open up the rear elevation, while internal electric blinds provide privacy and light control without compromising the clean design aesthetic.

Fully Glazed Roof

A standout feature of this single storey extension is the fully glazed west-facing roof, which floods the interior with natural light at all times of day. This striking glass structure enhances the sense of space, giving the homeowners a truly impressive entertaining area. The open-plan layout sets the scene for social gatherings, making it a dream space for a top chef who sees the kitchen as the heart of the home.

Victorian Charm & Contemporary Style

This single storey extension delivers a perfect balance of Victorian charm and contemporary style. By opening up the rear of the property and introducing glass, light and modern materials, Roberts Miller Redshaw completely reimagined the space for socialising and everyday life. The result is a beautiful extension that adds not only space but also value, enjoyment and functionality to the home.
